About
Like most children, I started making up stories before I could write. After learning how to make shapes on paper that represented words - very poorly according to my consistent "C" grades in elementary school handwriting - I was elated that could share them with more people . While my handwriting may have been atrocious, the words I strung together seemed to entertain those who read them. I also found that getting the stories onto paper got them out of my head, which always seems to be rather crowded with ideas.
Over the years I entered many poetry and short story contests (winning a few prizes) and continued to write on any paper I could find. (And my handwriting has never improved) About ten years ago I self published my first novel, "Aeternitas" a globe-trotting thriller like a cross between "Indiana Jones" and "The X-Files", just to see if I could indeed write an entire novel. It is no longer available, but it is in my current queue of projects to be rewritten, as I still like the premise and characters, but the technical information is now hopelessly out of date and the writing itself could be vastly improved. It may even end up as a movie script.
It's project number three behind turning Evermore into a screenplay and creating the pitch deck and pilot for a TV series based on local paranormal lore, called The Vault.

When I'm not writing (or thinking about writing, or researching for writing - let's be honest, for a writer, everything has something to do with writing!) I enjoy an excessive amount of hobbies. I enjoy spending time in nature, so you'll often find me hiking, mudlarking, metal detecting, or photographing anything that catches my eye. (Which is a lot - squirrel!) Obviously, I read a lot and spend too much time in libraries and book stores - usually looking up obscure historical references or the latest scientific discoveries.
Favorite authors include: Douglas Adams, Roger Zelazny, Gabino Iglesias, Mike Chen, Chuck Wendig, Tananarive Due, Nnedi Okorafor, Martha Grimes, and classics like Oscar Wilde, Shirley Jackson, E. A. Poe, Agatha Christie, Arthur Conan Doyle, and George Sand.
In the world of visual entertainment, I am a huge fan of Doctor Who and Red Dwarf, horror films old and new (though I prefer atmospheric and suspenseful over a gore fest) scifi (espcially scifi/horror like Event Horizon & Alien).
I also have three cats - Falafel , Clifford, and Murray- who keep me sane. Well, normal enough that I can pass for human. They've just formed a folk trio, The Kitchen Kittes, and they're working on an album.
